Glen and Sherisse Tanonef founded Eventfully Yours on their dream of owning their own business and have been operating now since 2005.
The husband & wife team, with extensive experience and qualifications spanning over 10 years in the hospitality industry, creates the superior service that Eventfully Yours has earned the highest reputation for.
Glen Tanonef was born in Sydney, Australia. Moving to Darwin at a very young age with a few years between the age of 9-12 living in Bali, Indonesia. Glen's father established Teddy’s Bar in Kupang, West Timor in 1984, today a well know place several visitors from all around the globe are familiar with. Over the years whilst living in Darwin, Glen would travel to Kupang every school holidays and take part in the daily happenings of the bar & bbq.
Sherisse Tanonef is Darwin born and bred. Having always grown up in the hospitality industry her parents have owned cafes in Sydney, and the USA. Sherisse left Darwin in 1990 to go to high school in the United States. At 16 years old Sherisse worked a casual job at a family franchise restaurant (Denny’s Restaurants, USA) where she gained great experience working for “tips” as the custom is in the US. Sherisse’s parents owned and operated a small café in Phoenix, Arizona, USA, 1991-1994, where she helped in serving in the café, as well as doing short order menu items, and book keeping. Sherisse returned to Darwin, Australia in 1995 to go to NT University to complete a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management majoring in Hospitality where she met Glen, who at the time was doing the same degree.
During the course of the degree, Glen and Sherisse worked full time at various international hotels. Novotel Darwin, Intercontinental Hotels Group (Holiday Inns & Crowne Plaza Darwin), Mirambeena Resort (Travelodge), Saville Park Suites, Darwin Central Hotel (when part of Accor Hotels Group).
They worked from being front line staff in the restaurants and function staff in the banquets department, to being Supervisors of the hotel restaurants & functions department, working their way up to Assistant Manager, Front Office Receptionist, Accommodation Reservationist, Conference & Events Executive.
Their extensive experience in hotels, banquets, restaurants and hospitality industry spans over 10 years.
In 1999, Glen and Sherisse graduated at NTU and were married 10 July 1999 and in 2000, Glen and Sherisse went over to Kupang, West Timor, to help Glen’s dad run his business.
The business in Kupang consisted of 20 room hotel, Café, Teddy’s Bar & BBQ, fleet of 30 taxis, 12 buses for public transportation.
Glen and Sherisse assisting in the management and development of the managerial staff of Teddy’s Enterprise. Some of the key highlights of the experience in Kupang were:
Creation of a number of City events such as “Nyong & Nona” Pagent,
Glen & Sherisse created these events, coordinated these extensive events, and worked along side other businesses as well as the local governments.
